Learn more, view map & buy tickets For this season’s finale, we return to the delightful church in Burlington where we held such an enjoyable springtime concert last June. The weekend after Easter will be celebrated by a performance of the beautiful, lyric Five Mystical Songs by Ralph Vaughan Williams, written to the sublime poetry of George Herbert. Our guest soloist will be Daniel Roth, back with us after his fine performance in last year’s Fauré Requiem. The loveliness of the season will be well illustrated in songs by Elgar, Stanford, Aston, Rutter and Pearsall, and a group of pleasurable madrigals. We will also perform Sir John Tavener’s most famous work, Song for Athene, set to words from Shakespeare’s Hamlet and from the Eastern Orthodox Liturgy, and sung memorably at the funeral service of Princess Diana.
