Hope for NKH and other amazing charities make use of online ticket sales for annual events!

Hope for NKH last year on their fundraiser and after our conversation with the organization’s president Sarah Harris, we are still touched by the event. [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="205" caption="An amazing organization leading an honorable cause"][/caption] On May 19th, 2012 Hope for NKH will be hosting its second annual auction at the Lakes Moose Lodge #186. Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH) is also known as glycine encephalopathy (GCE) which varies in severity. NKH is a metabolic disorder. Most babies born with this disorder die shortly after birth.  At birth NKH babies look like any other healthy baby. Days later they go through a period of lethargy, very weak or no cry, loss of muscle tone, little to no sucking reflex, and constant seizure activity and/or myoclonic jerks, which can lead to death. When a child survives they are faced with varying degrees of mental retardation. The disorder affects 1 in 60,000 newborns. There are less than 500 known children living worldwide with this disorder, and in 2010 our small, tight knit group of families lost 12 precious children. The proceeds of the auction will go Dr. Johan Van Hove, who has dedicated his life’s work to helping children with this disease, but in order to continue his research he needs approximately $100,000 per year. We are so lucky to be associated with touching events and causes daily.  It warms our hearts to know that Ticketbud’s online ticketing platform allows incredible and brave organizations like Hope for NKH to keep their funds and put them into real action.
