Heels for Hope is selling tickets and fighting cancer with a fashion fiesta!

Upon looking at the contributions made by Big 12 schools towards Relay for Life, University of Texas student Brittany Thomas noticed something that didn’t sit well with her; UT was dead last.  Rather than complain about it or simply ignore it, Brittany chose to do something about the problem and created Heels for Hope, a charity that aims to raise money and awareness for cancer research through events that feature, what else, women strutting in their high heels!  Now, nearly a year since the charity’s inception, Heels for Hope is announcing its next big event: the Heels for Hope: Fight Back Fashion Fiesta! While this event will, of course, feature high heels, the Fight Back Fashion Fiesta goes way beyond just fancy shoes as attendees will be treated to a cocktail party and fashion show held at the beautiful Barr Mansion and Artesian Ballroom in Austin Texas.  The event, which will be held on December 1st, will feature, along with the cocktail party and fashion show, a silent auction, guest speaker, as well as drinks, appetizers, and even cupcakes!  Tickets for this amazing night along with “support” tickets for people who cannot attend but would still like to donate can be found at the Heels for Hope event page, with all proceeds from the event going to the UT Relay for Life, benefiting the American Cancer Society.
