Alternatives To Your Traditional Thanksgiving
Cocktail Party with a twist:
Host a cocktail party, Festive drinks for the pilgrims! Instead of just serving regular cocktail drinks, cheese, and crackers, why not have drinks and awesome appetizers that tie into the Thanksgiving theme.
Drinks:
- Pumpkin Martini
- Turkey Nail
- Pumpkin Pie Shot
- Warm Cider and Rum Punch
Appetizers:
- Mini Bread Pudding
- Spiced Pumpkin Seeds
- Pumpkin Dip
- Pickled Pumpkin
Potluck Thanksgiving:
Not a big fan of cooking and cleaning? Why not host a potluck. This will save you time and money! And if no one wants to cook the turkey, there are some alternatives. Here are a couple of alternative dishes: *Lemon Turkey Tenderloin
Host a themed Party:
Give your guest a Gobble Good Time! Here are a couple of themes: *Red, Orange, and Yellow Party: Colors of the changing leaves. Have your guest wear only red, orange, and yellow.
Pumpkin Roll: Get a large pumpkin and have a race. See who can roll the pumpkin the fastest to the finish line.
- Pumpkin Hunt: Hide small sized pumpkins around your yard or house. Get your guest into two teams and have them look for the pumpkins. To make it more interesting you can make it into a scavenger hunt.
- Cornhusk Racing: Have two teams and have them collect all the cornhusk. The team that collects them all the fastest, wins!
Where is Mr. Turkey? : One person is chosen to be the hunter and the rest are the hunter’s helpers. The hunter must step out of the room before the helpers hide the fake turkey toy. Once the turkey is hidden, the hunter must try and find the turkey. As the hunter is looking, if he is not close to the turkey, the helpers gobble quietly. As the hunter gets closer to the turkey, helpers gobble louder.
