Ticketbud & The UT Social Media Club on Campus!
Ticketbud relived the good ol' college days this week as we made our way onto the campus of The University of Texas at Austin. After taking in the sights, Ticketbud sat down with one of UT's most impressive organizations, the UT Social Media Club, to sponsor and host a few exciting events around campus.
The UTSMC provides their members with a forum to discuss social media including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest and how social media is rapidly changing the global landscape!
On Monday, we had lots of fun at the Social Media Club's Startup Spotlight event, which showcased three different, successful student-run startup companies including hoot.me, UThinkTank, and Graphic Fusion. It was amazing to see such young, bright, and forward-thinking minds remind us that innovation and creativity come, not with age and experience, but with dedication and passion.
At the event, we also announced our "Social Media Club/Ticketbud Apple Giveaway" that we had been tabling for on campus. For the giveaway, we decided to give one lucky Ticketbud fan a FREE iPod nano! After two days of waiting, we are happy to congratulate...

Their adulation is justified and well-deserved but it is often forgotten that these masters of film were once humble no-names with nothing but a vision and hope for a chance to share that vision with the world.

For most children, their carefree days of adolescence are filled with laughter, learning, and a lot of love. They have food on their plates, a roof over their heads and, most importantly, parents that care and provide for them. For some, however, these simple securities of life are not so secure. Many children have experienced significant loss, trauma, abuse and/or neglect in their lives and, for most, there is nowhere to turn.
It's amazing how much we take for granted in our lives while some children struggle just to get by, even in a vibrant city like Austin, Texas. But what's more amazing is how few places these underprivileged and, otherwise, abandoned kids have to turn to for help and guidance.
